trackCaster
 trackCaster is a fast and secure multitrack audio-editor that is easy to use and adapted to the special demands of audio broadcasting.
trackCaster is suitable for both fast production of up-to-date reports and complex features. The extensive import- and export abilities of trackCaster allow easy integration into your system environment.
Every editing step is sample-accurate, without delay and can be done while playing back or recording with immediate effect.
Single audio-clips can be imported via drag&drop from the Windows Explorer, an audio CD or the DIGAS database to any of the multiple audio tracks or the clipboard. trackCaster recognizes a majority of audio formats.
The imported audio-clips can be arranged in multiple tracks. Among others there are edit-operations like trimming of the beginning and the end of the clips, editing volume, pan, fades and crossfades between clips.
 Audio-clips can also be recorded with the internal recorder.
 The Clip Mixer allows adjustment of volumes of selected clips. In addition, a normalisation of levels is possible here.
Clip Editors
The clips can be edited in one of the two independent clip-editors. Audio regions can easily be cut out or copied. Single cuts can be trimmed and crossfaded. There are volume- and pan-envelopes with an arbitrary number of interpolation points. A clipboard holds a list of files, that have already been edited, or need to be edited.
O-Tone Mode
For easy playback of original recordings in a live situation trackCaster has an o-tone mode. The edited original samples can be started from keyboard commands or fader-start. The mix of a speaker and playback can then be recorded with the internal audio recorder setting markers at certain events (e.g. slips of the tongue). This allows quick and easy production of a new single clip, that can even be edited in one of the clip-editors while recording.
Ducking Curves
A special feature of trackCaster is the automatic ducking. This allows volume adjustment of clips on the track below. This eases embedding clips into foreign -language or background recordings.
Effects
Up from version 1.22, as an option, trackCaster supports an interface for effects in VST format. With that, trackCaster comes with effects (Chorus, Compressor, Delay, EQ, Flanger, Limiter, Phaser, Reverb, Auto-Filter) of the danish manufacturer Kjaerhus Audio and is extendable also through VST effects of other manufacturers. In addition trackCaster offers a timestretching option.
Stability
Two more important features: reliability and security. TrackCaster is extremely rugged and secures every single step of action with a elaborate transaction- management. Even unsaved changes will be recovered after a system-failure.
